1. July 11 to 14
7400 block Duncan Street
Approximately $200 of fuel was siphoned from two vehicles and a boat parked over the weekend in a parking lot.
2. July 15
4700 block Joyce Avenue
Windows were smashed and two laptop computers stolen at a business. With the help of a specialist, the laptops were tracked using the IP address. The specialist was able to remotely access the computers’ cameras to photograph the accused. After obtaining a warrant a private residence was searched and an arrest made which resulted in both computers being located. Charges have been recommended.
3. July 18
2300 block Lang Bay Road
A woman’s shoulder purse with brown beads and word “Cuba” written on it was stolen from an unlocked truck parked at a business. The purse contained personal identification and a small amount of cash.
4. July 19
Marine and Ash avenues
At approximately 2:15 am an officer observed the driver of a 1997 purple Pontiac Grand Prix failing to stop at a stop sign. The officer detected alcohol on the driver’s breath and requested breath samples which resulted in “warn” readings. The vehicle was impounded for three days and the driver’s licence was seized for three days.
5. July 17 to 21
Mowat Bay
Fuel was siphoned from a vehicle while parked. Approximately 80 litres was taken.
