1. July 23

2. July 25

4700 block Joyce Avenue

Police attended a business parking lot to assist with a minor collision as one of the drivers refused to exchange information with the other driver for ICBC purposes. After police arrived it was determined that the driver who was refusing to cooperate did not hold a valid driver’s licence. As a result his vehicle was impounded for seven days and he was given a court date.

3. July 27

Willingdon Beach

At approximately 10:30 pm two RCMP officers were conducting foot patrols around the Sea Fair Festival when they recognized a male who was known to be on a court-ordered 10 pm curfew. The officers spoke to the male and advised him he was under arrest for breaching his release conditions but he fled, running through the festival, and jumped off a steep embankment in an attempt to evade pursuing police. The male injured himself during the fall and was taken back into police custody. The RCMP recommended the criminal code charge of escaping lawful custody in addition to breaching his release conditions.
