Second Beach
At approximately 8:30 pm, police received a complaint of a theft. A couple had been taking photographs in the area and once done placed the camera in their vehicle. When they returned a short time later the camera was gone. A suspicious male was in the area at the time described as being 18 to 20 years old, skinny and wearing blue jeans, T-shirt and a black ball cap. 2. Recent scam
An individual selling a car was contacted by a person who stated that they were in Spain and wanted to buy the vehicle for her son who was in Canada. A price was agreed upon but when the seller received the cheque it was for a larger amount. The buyer advised the seller to cash the cheque and send her the excess. When the seller went to the bank it was determined that the cheque was counterfeit. To learn more about scams readers are asked to visit the antifraud website.
