1. June 2 to 15
Westview, Townsite and Cranberry
Between June 2 and 9 approximately 50 litres of diesel fuel was syphoned from a Bobcat that was parked on the pole line near an electrical substation in Powell River. Between June 13 and 15 a 1997 Chevrolet pickup truck was parked in a Townsite business parking lot. While parked someone syphoned half a tank of fuel, stole some boat tie-downs and a windshield wiper. During the same time two other trucks, parked at Mowat Bay, had their fuel syphoned. 2. June 13
Wildwood
At approximately 7 pm Powell River RCMP attended a residence to investigate an alarm that had been activated. Upon attendance the officers located a marijuana grow operation. The home owner produced a valid licence but was growing significantly more plants than the licence permitted. As a result 56 plants were seized, the licence will be reviewed and the permit holder could face the criminal code charge of production of a controlled drug or substance.
3. June 14
Westview Avenue at Hammond Street
At approximately 7:35 pm Powell River RCMP pulled over a blue Chevrolet Cavalier after both occupants were observed to not be wearing seatbelts. The driver demonstrated significant signs of impairment and is facing the criminal code charge of driving a motor vehicle while impaired by alcohol.
