Barnet Street
One young male has been arrested for breaking into numerous vehicles all over Powell River during the past few months. Due to the accused being a minor his name cannot be released. Powell River RCMP greatly appreciates the public for their key role in identifying the accused.
2. May 31
Mowat Bay
Over the past two weekends two vehicles have been damaged while parked. One of the vehicles was likely damaged by another vehicle doing “doughnuts” which kicked up rocks and gravel and caused some scratches and minor dents. The second vehicle appeared to have been keyed as there was a scratch along both the driver’s side and the passenger’s side. 3. May 31
Marine Avenue near Hemlock Street
At approximately 2:50 am a 2004 Chevrolet Silverado was stopped by police after it was observed swerving all over the road. The driver was found to be intoxicated so the vehicle was impounded and the driver’s licence seized for 24 hours. The driver is also facing a Criminal Code charge for driving under the influence.
