1. March 21
5000 block Ash Avenue
Police responded to a report of a theft from a vehicle. Sometime during the night, the unlocked vehicle was entered and the car stereo was stolen from inside. Police have responded to numerous complaints like this and are reminding everyone to lock the doors when their vehicles are unoccupied. 2. March 21
Zilinsky Road
Police stopped a pickup truck after it was seen being driven erratically. The 54-year-old male driver showed signs of impairment. The driver provided a breath sample which registered a “fail.” He was issued with a 90-day driving prohibition and his vehicle was impounded for 30 days under the Motor Vehicle Act.
3. March 22
5000 block Joyce Avenue
Police responded to a report of an intoxicated male near the Powell River Recreational Complex. The 63-year-old male was located and arrested for causing a disturbance. He was released the next morning without charges.
