Zilinsky Road

Police stopped a vehicle after it was found the insurance had expired. After speaking to the 64-year-old male driving the vehicle, it was determined he had consumed liquor. The male provided a breath sample which registered a “fail.” He was given a 90-day driving prohibition under the Motor Vehicle Act.

November 9

10000 block Highway 101

Police responded to a report of a theft from a vehicle. A bag containing a cellphone and a number of other personal items was stolen from the vehicle while it was parked between 7 and 10 am on that day. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to please contact Powell River RCMP 604.485.6255 or CrimeStoppers 1.800.222.8477 (TIPS).

Highway 101 at Larson Road

Police responded to a single-vehicle collision. A vehicle heading north on the highway hit a patch of black ice. The driver lost control and the vehicle rolled into a ditch. None of the occupants of the vehicle were injured.
