1. October 19
7300 block Abbotsford Street
At 10:20 am police received a report of property damage to an educational institution. Sometime over the weekend the building was vandalized with paint. Police continue to investigate this incident with a possible suspect identified by witnesses.
2. October 19
4300 block Joyce Avenue
At 8:48 pm police responded to a glass break alarm at a commercial business. Police arrived to find windows had been broken. Within minutes, police were called to a second alarm at a commercial business on Franklin Avenue. Police found further damage to the windows there. In the same area, windows were also broken at two other commercial businesses. The next morning, October 20, police received a report of windows broken overnight at two other locations, a hospitality business and a school bus parked on Michigan Avenue.
3. October 20
7100 block Alberni Street
At 12:26 pm police responded to a report of a shoplifter at a grocery store. A 55-year-old female had stolen several packages of meat valued at over $400. Police are recommending a charge of theft.
4. October 21
7300 block Highway 101
At 8 am police received a report of an attempted break and enter to a business’s weigh scale building. Police attended and examined the scene. Windows and exterior lights were broken. The suspect(s) may have been interrupted.
5. October 22
5700 block Ash Avenue
At 13:40 pm police received a report of a break-in and property damage to industrial buildings. Police attended and gathered forensic evidence for examination. Police continue to investigate.
