Environment Canada issues storm warning

Right on the heels of the storm that came through Powell River last weekend, another intense wind warning has been issued. According to Environment Canada , the intense front will arrive this afternoon.

Right on the heels of the storm that came through Powell River last weekend, another intense wind warning has been issued. According to Environment Canada, the intense front will arrive this afternoon.

Southeast winds will increase as the front approaches and peak late this afternoon or early this evening.

The storm will hit the Sunshine Coast from Powell River to Gibsons. Winds are expected to reach 70 kilometres per hour over exposed coastal areas.

As the front moves inland tonight, winds will ease and shift to gusty southerlies.
