Jason Foulds has been ordered to be detained in custody and to reside in BC’s forensic psychiatric hospital following an appearance before the British Columbia Review Board.
On June 12, 2019, Foulds was found not criminally responsible on account of mental disorder by the Supreme Court of British Columbia at Powell River on two counts of first degree murder and one count of attempt to commit murder with a firearm, contrary to sections 235 and 239(1)(a.1) respectively of the Criminal Code of Canada. Foulds was ordered to be held in custody at the forensic psychiatric hospital until disposition by the British Columbia Review Board.
On July 26, 2019, the review board held a hearing and made its disposition to detail Foulds in custody.
The review board’s conditions for Foulds include:
· That he be subject to the direction and supervision of the director, adult forensic psychiatric services
· That he not acquire, possess or use any firearm, explosive or offensive weapon
· That he not consume alcohol or cannabis
· That at his discretion, the director may monitor the accused's compliance with this order by testing using urinalysis for the use of alcohol or cannabis and that Foulds shall submit to such testing upon the demand of the director
· That he keep the peace and be of good behaviour
· That he present himself before the Review Board when required.
