TAKES PRIZE: Keith Blunden is having a difficult time deciding whether to buy a boat or renovate his kitchen with his $35,000 lottery winnings in the BC 50/50.

Keith Blunden is at a crossroads about what to do with his $35,000 BC 50/50 windfall: to purchase a boat or upgrade his kitchen.

“I would like to get a boat, but my wife wants to update the kitchen,” Blunden stated in a media release from the British Columbia Lottery Corporation. “I told her we already have a kitchen, but we don’t have a boat.”

The qathet region resident purchased his ticket for the December 12, 2021 draw from the Grasshopper Pub in Madeira Park and realized a few days after the draw that he was a winner.

“I didn’t know I won until days later when I saw there was a winner in Powell River, which is when I checked my ticket,” stated Blunden. “I was in disbelief!”

His reaction on being a lottery winner: “Shocking in a nice way.”
