Powell River RCMP members are investigating a vehicle collision at the Shell gas station, including for failure to remain at the scene of an accident, which occurred late in the evening on July 1.
According to an RCMP media release, an officer on patrol heard what sounded like a motor vehicle collision at 11:40 pm. The officer then located the collision scene at the intersection of Joyce Avenue and Alberni Street.
Upon arrival, police observed a grey Ford 150 pickup truck embedded into the east-facing wall of the convenience store, which caused significant damage. The vehicle was empty and has been seized for investigation.
