Police are currently investigating the death of an Ontario man after his body was located on the waterfront off of Willingdon Avenue.
Powell River Search and Rescue and the RCMP began looking for the man at approximately 4 pm on January 30.
“An acquaintance of the victim notified police that the 32 year old had been missing since late Tuesday evening,” said Sergeant Rod Wiebe of the Powell River detachment.
The man’s remains were found near the water at about 8 pm.
Wiebe said the police and coroners service are investigating the death, but foul play in not suspected. The deceased's name is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
