The theft occurred between 7:50 and 8 pm on December 26.

December 28; Claridge Road, 4500 block
At approximately 11:15 pm, police responded to a report of an unknown male who was attempting to open the doors of a vehicle parked in a driveway. The male was described as being 5’ 8” tall, 165 pounds and between 16 and 18 years old. He was wearing a black leather jacket. A short time later the male was seen running into a wooded area nearby. Police attended but where unable to locate the male.

December 29; Hemlock Street, 5400 block
At approximately 9:44 am, police responded to a report of a fraudulent rental listing on Craigslist. The owner of a residence reported that he had found his house (including a photo) listed for rent on Craigslist for $1,400 a month. It is believed that whoever posted the photo on Craigslist is likely looking to defraud potential victims of a rental damage deposit (although this has not been reported yet). Police are reminding the public to remain vigilant when looking for rental properties and to do the following: When searching for rentals, go to the address. Schedule a showing and confirm its availability. Request a lease/contract. Review it thoroughly. Complete internet searches on rental addresses to ensure it's not a duplicate post. Do not send funds to strangers. Go with your gut. If it seems fishy it probably is.
