June 4; Marine Avenue/Alberni Street
At approximately 2:30 pm, while making patrols in the area, Powell River RCMP observed a vehicle driving south on Marine Avenue. As the vehicle passed, police recognized the driver as being prohibited from driving due to a previous impaired driving complaint.

Police stopped the vehicle and arrested the 54-year-old male for impaired driving. While speaking to the driver police detected an odour of liquor on his breath. The driver provided a breath sample which registered a “fail” on an approved screening device.

As a result, the male was issued a second 90-day driving prohibition and will be appearing in court for prohibited driving at a later time.
