Powell River RCMP respond to noise complaint, assault

Police are asking for witnesses or anyone with cell phone video to contact the detachment.

At 9:48 pm on May 27, Powell River RCMP responded to a bylaw noise complaint in the 7000 block of Westminster Street.

Police attended and located approximately 50 youths on the beach near the Beach Gardens. Youth told police they would keep the noise down and clean up after themselves.

Approximately an hour later, police were called to an assault that had occurred at the same location. RCMP continue to investigate the assault and ask any witnesses or anyone with cell phone video to please contact Powell River RCMP.
