Police Patrol: Powell River RCMP release weekly statistics

Powell River RCMP reported the following for June 8 to 15, 2022.

Total calls for service: 119
Thefts: 8
Impaired driving: 5
Assaults: 11
Mischief: 4
Mental health: 12

June 12; Cranberry Street
At approximately 5:22 pm, police were making patrols on Cranberry Street. Police observed a vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed that almost hit a parked vehicle. RCMP stopped the vehicle and spoke with the driver, a 58-year-old female from Powell River.

The driver showed signs of impairment, and as a result, a breath sample was obtained. The breath sample registered a “warn” on the approved screening device and a seven-day driving prohibition was issued.
