Powell River RCMP reported the following for October 21 to 27, 2021.

October 27; qathet region
Powell River RCMP would like to remind the public that efforts are still being made to locate Vaughn Baumgardt, who has been missing since the night of August 20, 2021, when he was last seen at a residence in the 9500 block of Highway 101. Baumgardt left the residence on foot and has not been seen since. RCMP have followed up on all tips that have come in from the public and encourage anyone who may have seen Baumgardt or has any information in regards to this file to please report it.

October 24; Joyce Avenue, 4700 block
At approximately 4:50 pm, police responded to a report of mischief to a vehicle. Sometime between 3 and 4 am during the previous night, someone smashed the windows of the truck, which was parked across from the residence. Insurance papers were stolen from inside the truck after the windows were smashed.

October 21; Joyce Avenue, 4300 block
At approximately 5:04 pm, police responded to a report of a theft from a vehicle. Between 4:30 and 5:04 pm, someone entered a vehicle parked at that location and stole a large sum of money from a purse inside. The passenger side door of the vehicle was then left open.
