Powell River RCMP reported the following for October 28 to November 3, 2021.

Total calls for service: 167
Thefts: 12
Assaults: 5 
Impaired driving: 4
Mischief: 3
Break and enter: 5 

November 1; Kiwanis Avenue, 4900 block
At approximately 3:15 pm, police responded to a report of a theft from a bus at Kiwanis Manor. Sometime during the previous weekend, someone gained entry to the bus and took a fire extinguisher, safety cones, first aid kit and the microphone for the loudspeaker in the bus. Value of the stolen items is estimated to be around $250.

October 30; Manson Avenue, 4500 block
At approximately 7:23 pm, while responding to a call for service, police observed a vehicle reverse across the street in front of oncoming traffic. RCMP stopped the vehicle and spoke to the 47-year-old male driver, who showed signs of impairment.  A breath sample was taken using an approved screening device, which registered a fail. As a result, the driver was issued a 90-day driving prohibition and his vehicle was impounded for 30 days under the provisions of the Motor Vehicle Act.
