Powell River RCMP reported the following for December 2 to 8, 2021.

Total calls for service: 98
Thefts: 4
Impaired driving: 3
Mischief: 6
Break and enter: 1
Assaults: 1

December 7; Joyce Avenue, 4700 block
At approximately 8:26 am, police responded to a mischief report at a business. Sometime during the previous night, three people damaged the front porch at the business by prying up the boards in an attempt to locate an item that had been dropped. The suspects are believed to be two males and one female, but no further description was obtained.

December 4; Marine Avenue, 4800 block
At approximately 11:36 am, police were conducting a check stop for impaired drivers at Willingdon Beach. RCMP stopped a vehicle driven by a 31-year-old male from Ontario. While speaking to the male, police noticed signs of impairment. A breath sample was obtained which registered a fail on the approved screening device. As a result, the male was issued a 90-day driving prohibition and his vehicle was impounded for 30 days under the provisions of the Motor Vehicle Act.
