Powell River RCMP reported the following for December 30, 2021, to January 5, 2022.

Break and enter: 3

January 3; Harvie Avenue, 4500 block
At approximately 1:24 pm, police responded to a mischief complaint. Sometime between midnight and noon on January 3, someone broke the rear window of a vehicle parked at that location. The window was broken with a rubber hose that had a metal nozzle on the end. Two of the side windows also had chips on them as if they had been hit as well. The suspects did not gain entry to the vehicle, as nothing was taken or moved from inside.

January 1; Joyce Avenue, 5100 block
At approximately 8:29 pm, police responded to a report of a motor vehicle collision. A black Chevrolet Equinox was driving southbound when the driver lost control due to wintery conditions and struck a hydro pole, causing serious damage to the vehicle and the pole. The driver of the vehicle sustained minor injuries as a result of the collision.
