Powell River RCMP reported the following for March 23 to 30, 2022.

Total calls for service: 132
Thefts: 7
Impaired driving: 2
Break and enter: 6
Assaults: 3
Mischief: 4
Mental health: 16

March 24; Barnet Street, 7000 block
At 8:55 am, Powell River RCMP responded to a theft at the FreshCo grocery store. An unknown female had attended the pharmacy counter and cleared the shelves of the cold medications and Nicorette products. The female continued through the store, attended to the cashier and paid for select items, but did not pay for the items from the pharmacy. The products stolen are worth approximately $1,000. At 2:30 pm, RCMP responded to a shoplifter in custody at Quality Foods on Joyce Avenue. The female had fled in her vehicle prior to police arrival. The suspect vehicle was located by police near the courthouse on Alberni Street. Police recovered stolen property from Quality Foods and FreshCo in the vehicle. Stolen property from Walmart and Shoppers Drug Mart was located in the vehicle that had not been reported to police. The female was identified as a 40-year-old North Vancouver resident. Stolen property recovered from all four businesses totalled more than $6,000.

March 28; Alberni Street, 7100 block
At 11:13 am, Powell River RCMP responded to a report of a break and enter and theft. A house under construction had a number of tools stolen over the weekend from March 25 at 5 pm to March 28 at 8 am. An unknown suspect(s) stole a Milwaukee Hole Hawg, a nine-amp battery, a Milwaukee standup light, a battery charger and a couple cases of pot lights. Total value of  property stolen is approximately $3,000.
