April 7; Marine Avenue
At approximately 1:55 am, police stopped a vehicle on Marine Avenue near Lytton Street after it was seen swerving on the road. Police spoke to the driver of the vehicle, a 65-year-old female from Powell River. While speaking to the driver, police detected an odour of liquor. The driver also admitted to recently consuming liquor. Police obtained a breath sample with an approved screening device, which registered a fail. A second breath sample was obtained, at the request of the driver, which also registered a fail. Under the provisions of the Motor Vehicle Act, the vehicle was impounded for 30 days and the driver was issued a 90-day driving prohibition.

April 10; Dixon Road, 2800 block
At approximately 9:26 pm, police responded to a report of a hit and run at a residence. Earlier in the evening, a side-by-side vehicle was seen several times driving at a high rate of speed outside a residence. A homeowner parked a vehicle in the road in an attempt to stop the side-by-side so he could speak with the driver. When the side-by-side reappeared, the driver stopped temporarily, reversed and rammed the homeowner’s vehicle twice before the homeowner reversed it back into the driveway. The side-by-side then sped off. Its driver could only be described as wearing a helmet and goggles, but there was a child believed to be no more than 10 years old in the passenger seat as well.

April 11: Block Bay Road
At approximately 6:29 am, police responded to a mischief report at the bottom of Block Bay Road. Sometime during the previous night, using rocks, someone had smashed three windows on a backhoe loader.
