At approximately 7 pm on December 5, Powell River RCMP responded to a report of an assault with a weapon outside the Town Centre mall near the bus loop.
Officers spoke to several witnesses, who reported that a group of youths were standing outside the mall at the bus loop when a male youth, dressed all in black, chased after another youth and bear-sprayed him.
The suspect was identified by witnesses and arrested for assault with a weapon and held in custody.
