At approximately 9:26 pm, Powell River RCMP responded to a report of a hit and run at a residence in the 2800 block of Dixon Road.

Earlier in the evening, a side-by-side vehicle was seen several times driving at a high rate of speed outside a residence. A homeowner parked a vehicle in the road in an attempt to stop the side-by-side so he could speak with the driver.

When the side-by-side reappeared, the driver stopped temporarily, reversed and rammed the homeowner’s vehicle twice before the homeowner reversed it back into the driveway.

The side-by-side then sped off. Its driver could only be described as wearing a helmet and goggles, but there was a child believed to be no more than 10 years old in the passenger seat as well.

Anyone with information about the incidents above is asked to contact Powell River RCMP at 604.485.6255, or to remain anonymous, contact Crime Stoppers at 1.800.222.TIPS (8477) or online at bccrimestoppers.com.
