August 13: Cranberry
At approximately 6:28 am, RCMP responded to a report of a possible impaired driver near Cranberry Street and Manson Avenue. A vehicle was reportedly all over the road and almost hit a parked car.
Police attended and located the vehicle on Highway 101 north of Sutherland Avenue and spoke to the driver, a 22-year-old male from Powell River, who showed signs of impairment. Police obtained breath samples on the approved screening devices, which registered a fail.
Under the provisions of the Motor Vehicle Act, the driver was issued a 90-day driving prohibition and his vehicle was impounded for 30 days.
