Powell River Board of Education has announced that School District 47 Powell River schools and facilities will be closed Thursday, January 6.
School will not be in session for any qathet region students, including those of essential health workers or vulnerable students, according to a notice from superintendent of schools Dr. Jay Yule.
The closure is due to the snow, which has caused unsafe conditions on side streets and sidewalks.
