ANNUAL SUMMATION: qathet Regional District’s statement of financial information is now available for public viewing prior to adoption by the board of directors.

qathet Regional District board will consider the regional district’s 2020 statement of financial information (SOFI) for approval.

At the June 16 finance committee meeting, regional directors were able to comment on SOFI, which, according to a staff report, consists of core financial statements and schedules for employee remuneration and payments to suppliers for goods and services provided to the corporation. By June 30 of the year, the regional district must hold a board meeting or other public meeting for the purpose of presenting audited financial statements of the preceding year and other financial data.

Electoral Area E director Andrew Fall said he wanted to thank manager of financial services Linda Greenan for the report.

“It’s always a challenge to present numbers in a concise way and I found it very comprehensive,” said Fall. “I understood it and I think it was really clear.”

The report will be up for adoption at the June 24 qathet Regional District board meeting.

According to the report, remuneration for elected officials in 2020 amounted to $162,605.25, with expenses of $10,163.38.

There were 10 employees earning more than $75,000, amounting to $1,095,648.60, with expenses of $16,456.80. Total for all employees’ remuneration was $2,243,782.81, with expenses of $45,301.52.
