Consultants interested in conducting a service review of the City of Powell River’s operations have until 4 pm on Friday, April 15 to submit a proposal. Councillors approved the request for proposal document for a review of the city’s general operations, service delivery and organizational review at the March 17 meeting.

The city received $75,000 from the provincial government for a core service review. It’s expected the final document will offer findings that will benefit other industry-based communities.


Klahoose election

Ken Brown has been re-elected chief of Klahoose First Nation. Brown won 93 of the 130 votes cast in the April 2 election. Kathy Francis, Jessie Louie and Mavis McGee (Kok) were elected to council. Their two-year terms begin on April 10. This is Brown’s third two-year term as chief.
