Olympic trail

Adam Rahier has won two silvers and a gold in swimming at the 2011 Parapan American Games in Guadalajara. Rahier’s best performance came in 100-metre backstroke which he swam in just over one minute six seconds to win gold. The silvers came in 100-metre breaststroke and 200-metre freestyle.

Rahier is from Powell River and is working toward his goal of swimming in the 2012 Summer Paralympic Games in London, England. Parapan was not a qualifier for the Paralympics but is good practice as Rahier prepares to participate in a qualifier in Montreal at the end of March 2012.
