BC Ferries advises that the MV Island Discovery ferry has cancelled the following sailings due to adverse weather conditions - high winds:
· 11:25 am departing Blubber Bay
· 12:15 am departing Powell River
· 3 pm departing Blubber Bay
· 3:45 pm departing Powell River
In a travel advisory, BC Ferries states the safety of its passengers and crew is of primary importance.
“We don’t take the decision to cancel sailings lightly, as we know customers rely on us to get to their destinations,” the advisory stated. “We will resume service as soon as it is safe to do so.
“We appreciate your patience and apologize for any inconvenience experienced as a result of this cancellation.”
