UPDATED: Powell River search crews look for missing man

Tristan Rebane has been missing since yesterday morning

UPDATE: In a media release received at 4:47 pm on December 17, Powell River RCMP stated that the missing man had been found.

Powell River Search and Rescue, in a coordinated effort with RCMP, are looking for Tristan Rebane, who has been missing since yesterday morning. He is believed to have gone for a short hike but has not returned.

Rebane was on his way to work, however, he did not show up, according to Powell River Search and Rescue. He is known to go for frequent walks around Duck and West lake areas.

In a media release, Powell River RCMP stated that Rebane left his house at 11:15 am, but his family has not heard from him since. His last known whereabouts was at Lang Bay Store, south of Powell River, at 11:51 am.

Rebane was driving a black 2019 Toyota RAV4, which has not been found. The BC licence plate number is PN6-95T. He was wearing a beige zip-up jacket, dark coloured pants, brown work boots, a light blue baseball cap and a black face mask.

Rebane is 35 years old and described as being 5’11” tall with a medium build.
