Powell River Kings' defender Will Jones has been named a BC Hockey League all star.

Powell River Kings defender Will Jones has been named to the 2023/2024 BC Hockey League (BCHL) Coastal Conference all-star team.

One skater from each team and four goalies were officially named as all-stars by the BCHL on November 30, including Jones. Players were selected by a vote from BCHL coaches and general managers.

Jones will head to Penticton for All-Star Weekend, which takes place January 19/20 and will include a top prospects game, skills competition and an outdoor three-on-three tournament.

Jones has had a great start to his sophomore season, scoring four goals and adding 14 assists in 15 games. He has missed the last seven games due to injury.

Currently he is tied for fifth in points among BCHL defenders and tied for third most assists. His 10 power play assists are top three in the BCHL and his 1.20 points per game are top 10 among all blueliners.

So far Jones is the only King who will head to Penticton, but that could change. Three spots are still open on the Coastal Conference roster, which will be decided by a fan vote. One player from each team will be part of the ballot; Noah Eyre is the Kings’ representative.

The fan vote will start December 1 at 10 am; more details on where to vote will be announced then.
