Helen Augustinson, 91, died after a short illness. Ms. Augustinson was born in New Westminster, BC. She earned her education degree from UBC.
Ms. Augustinson taught and lived for more than 30 years in Powell River, where she was heavily involved in the Lutheran Church and Powell River community.
Ms. Augustinson was a world traveller of the highest order. She lived and taught for a year in Australia and took nearly 100 trips to all corners of the world. She was an avid reader and constantly had a book in rotation.
Ms. Augustinson was predeceased by her parents Hugo and Helga Augustinson, her sister Astrid Foulds and her brother-in-law John Dean. She is survived by her sister Karen Dean, her nephew Shane Foulds and her brother-in-law Dean Foulds.
A funeral service was held Wednesday, January 24, at Valley View Funeral Home and Cemetery, 14660-72nd Avenue, Surrey, BC.
