It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Gordon Ketchum, son, brother, father, husband, grandfather, uncle and friend.

Gordon was born on June 4, 1953. He passed away peacefully in qathet General Hospital on January 3, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. He was predeceased by his wife Donna; son Keray; parents Victor and Betty; brothers Arthur and Hallie and nephew Robbie (Pequin). He leaves behind his daughter Angie; grandchildren Lance, Austin and Jewlee; step-grandchildren Kyle and Tyler; his sisters Deborah and Theresa (David); brothers Brian (Theresa) and Ralph (Charline); as well as a daughter-in-law; numerous nieces and nephews; and a large circle of friends and family.

Born in Edmonton, Alberta, he grew up in a large family. He was the third born in a family of seven, eventually settling in Powell River.

Gordon married his wife Donna and raised two children. He started to work at the MacMillan Bloedel mill at the age of 17, later retiring early from the mill. He was known as overtime Ketchum at the mill. He was a hard worker, always willing to give a hand to family and friends.

Gordon was a quiet, loyal, thoughtful, bighearted man. He enjoyed music and spending time with his family and friends. He will forever live on, in our memories, with a song and the sound of his laughter.

A private celebration of his life will happen at a later date, including his family.
