Having lived life to the fullest, working hard and playing hard, our beloved Claes Lennart Petri went to be with his Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ on May 6, 2025.
Born February 11, 1950, in Helsingborg, Sweden, Claes moved to Powell River, BC, at the age of six with his family. He was predeceased by his older sister Eva, beloved mother Marianne, father Per Magnus and older brother Per Petri.
Growing up on the beautiful coastline of Malaspina Strait, Claes cultivated many skills and became a master of the sea. From the beginning of Highway 101 at Lund, BC, to Ecuador, South America, his life was filled with many incredible people and adventures.
Claes will be so missed by his family: Loving and devoted wife Louise (Lue) Petri, daughter Tanya (Greg Newman), daughter Crista and son Ryan Petri (Elisa Mowbray), grandchildren Bradon (Niki) and Jacob Budgell, Cole and Annika Newman, Brody (Nikki) and Matt Boese, Angus, Stella, Patsy and Kaytlin Petri, Lucas, and Mateo, Nicolas and Markos Lekakis, along with younger brothers Rob (Corey) Petri and Rodrick Lofgren, numerous in-laws, nieces and nephews and friends.
