It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of John Gordon Wick, who passed peacefully surrounded by his family on the evening of July 18.

John was born on May 11, 1969, in Powell River, where he spent all of his life building a home and legacy deep-rooted in hard work, family and community.

John is lovingly remembered by his wife Karen, sons Andrew (Drew) and Taylor (Mariah), stepson Jesse (Natasha), stepdaughter Madison (Dale) and granddaughters Arya and Esra. He was predeceased by his parents, Harold and Shirley, whom he held dearly in his heart.

John began his career working at a local grocery store, then created a landscaping business and later Wick’s Fire Safety, which he worked at tirelessly for 20+ years. John was well known for his reliability and strong work ethic, always leading by example and never shying away from a hard day's work.

Beyond his professional life, John was a man who truly lived for life's simpler pleasures. He cherished boat rides, trips to the cabin and found his greatest joy in quality time with his family and friends.

Whether sitting by the water or gathered around the dinner table, John's presence brought warmth, laughter and strength. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him - a devoted husband, proud father, grandfather and loyal friend whose legacy of love and hard work will not be forgotten.

A funeral service will be held at Evangel Church on August 9 at 10:30 am, with burial to follow and a celebration of life at 1 pm at Carlson Community Club.
