Special Olympics team wins
division two
BC Special Olympics-Powell River hosted a bocce tournament recently. Nine teams from Comox, Campbell River, Nanaimo and Powell River competed in two divisions. It was a fun afternoon for everyone involved.
Results were as follows:
Division one: first Campbell River; second Powell River players Richard Lang, Micele LaCroix, Peter Cossarin, Gord Christanson and Debbie Schmitz; third Comox.
Division two: first Powell River players Janet Robinson, Lynn Hilton, Grayce Hilton, Pamela Rae and Derek Russell; second Nanaimo; third Campbell River.
Many volunteers helped with the tournament and players appreciated the spectators who came to watch.
