Chilliwack Chiefs broke open a scoreless BC Hockey League (BCHL) game versus Powell River Kings with four unanswered second period goals on Saturday, January 14.

Cameron Symons scored the lone goal for the Kings, who were hosting the Chiefs in the first of two weekend games at Hap Parker Arena. His eighth goal of the season came on a power play early in the third period. Anthony Yu and Will Jones picked up assists on the play.

Chilliwack added an empty-net goal in the final minute of play to make the final 5-1.

Powell River outshot the visitors 29-28. Attendance was 1,004.

The two teams meet again on Sunday, January 15, at 1:30 pm.
