Brooks Secondary School curlers battled with the top girls in the province but had to settle for fourth place in the nine-zone field at High School Championships in Kamloops over the weekend.

Skip Erica Cawley, third Michaela Douglas, second Maddie Yule, lead Alia McPhee and fifth Charlotte Schreurs finished with four wins and three losses, good for a third-place tie with Prince George and Kitimat but fourth after the tiebreakers.

Coach Dave Douglas was proud of the team. “It was a great trip and the girls played the best I have seen, all of them making important shots,” he said.

North Delta’s Seaquam Secondary School won the title with a perfect 7-0 record.
