Powell River Regals will face University of Victoria Vikes for the third time this season on Saturday, October 18. Vikes won the first two games by scores of 6-1 and 6-4.
Regals also announced the signing of Garrett Brandsma, who will join his father Johnny Harris as one of two father and son combinations in the lineup this weekend. The other father and son duo of Rick and Austin McLaren will play together for the third time this season.
Mitch Ball will make his Regals debut, joining his brother Rylan on a roster loaded with local players. Powell River Kings’ assistant coach Brock Sawyer will play his second game with the Regals.
Victoria’s roster includes a Powell River connection in rookie Thomas Cecchi, son of Steve Cecchi, who grew up in Powell River.
After starting the season with exhibition wins over Comox Valley Glacier Kings and the Regals, Vikes posted two regular season wins over Trinity Western University and one over Eastern Washington University before suffering their first defeat, dropping their most recent contest 5-4 to Eastern Washington.
Game time is 7:30 pm Saturday at Hap Parker Arena.
