Lawn bowls are in their cases now as another season at Powell River Lawn Bowling Club has come to an end.
An awards night was held to honour players of the current season. Special events held during the summer were:
• Jeff Sauve Tournament winners were Ken Needham, Joyce Bailey and Alan Knibbs.
• Dundee Tournament winners were Brian Jackson, Len Mimeault and Frank Morgan.
• Hawaiian Ethel Lavengie winners were Yvonne Richardson, Bill Stone and Chuck Clark.
• Year-end Fred and Ken Dunlop Tournament winners were Edith Holmes, Mimeault and Knibbs.
In-club tournament winners included:
• Ladies’ singles: Eileen Milsom.
• Ladies’ doubles: Eileen and Sharon Bouchey.
• Ladies’ triples: Eileen, Holmes and Bouchey.
• Ladies’ handicap: Eileen.
• Ladies’ day: Mary Miller.
• Ladies’ novice and zone winner: Julie Leon.
• Men’s singles: Giovanni Pascucci.
• Men’s doubles: Tim Street and Mimeault.
• Men’s triples: Bob Milsom, Brian Jackson and Bill Stone.
• Men’s handicap: Bob.
• Men’s day: Street.
• Mixed doubles: Mary Bennett and Larry McDonald.
• Mixed triples: Bennett, Marge Jackson and Reg Cislino.
• Tuesday mixed: Giovanni Pascucci.
• Saturday mixed: Marge Jackson.
As Eileen won four club tournaments, she received a special congratulations from the club.
