League shuts down for weather

Villa tries for 10 in a row

A light snowfall and cold temperatures forced Vancouver Island Soccer League to cancel all of its games last weekend including Powell River Villa’s Saturday match against Juan de Fuca.

This week, Villa will attempt to run its unbeaten streak to 10 games when it takes on Fernwood Town FC at 1:30 pm on Sunday, December 7, at Cranberry Field.

When the teams first met in October, Jake Kenmuir scored twice to lead Villa to a tight 2-1 victory. For the coming match, coach Chris McDonough predicts, “maybe our toughest game of the year.”
