Visiting teams to the Lower Sunshine Coast enjoyed warm hospitality, good hockey and won all the hardware.

Recently, the Sunshine Coast Minor Hockey Association hosted a pair of tournaments: an Atom C and Peewee C in Sechelt and Gibsons.

Powell River participated in the peewee tournament by sending two teams representing Royal Bank and Scotiabank to Sechelt. The tournament was a round robin affair and Powell River played against two teams from the Lower Sunshine Coast along with the Seafair Junior Islanders from Richmond.

Seafair finished top in the standings with a perfect 4-0 record, followed by Powell River Royal at 2-1-1, Powell River Scotia at 1-1-2, the SC Blues C1 at 0-2-2 and the SC Blues C2 at 0-3-1.

The bronze medal game saw Powell River Scotia edge SC Blues C1 by a score of 4-3 and the Islanders won gold beating Powell River Royal 2-1.
