Anthony Yu and Noah Eyre each scored a pair of goals as Powell River Kings cruised to an 8-2 win over the visiting Cowichan Valley Capitals at Hap Parker Arena on Saturday, December 3.

Turner Richards, Anthony Lucarelli, Cameron Symons and Marcus Dashevsky also scored for the Kings, who led 2-1 after 20 minutes of play and 4-2 heading into the third period. Four more goals in the final frame sealed a convincing win for the home team.

In addition to domination on the scoreboard, Powell River also outshot Cowichan 40-28. The only statistic in favour of the visitors was power play conversion. Both Capitals’ goals came with the extra attacker while the Kings came up empty on three opportunities of their own.

Yu and Eyre also picked up an assist each and were named first (Yu) and second stars of the game ahead of Symons (third), who also set up a goal. Other assists went to Ryder Ringor and Will Jones with two each, Dylan Hewlett, Nic Porchetta, Richards and Sam Schoenfeld.

Attendance was 635.

Kings host Surrey Eagles on December 9 and 10. Both games start at 7 pm.
