Personal bests fall like pins

Volunteers guide event to success
Personal bests fall like pins

Participants in Powell River’s Special Olympics took part in a bowling tournament recently. As pins fell so did personal bests.

As the top male, George McVicker scored 83 points average over three games. Mary Starr bowled 72 points average over three games to come in as top female. In second place was Angela Seeley with 53 average over three games.

Mariah Harry increased her personal average by 34 points during the evening, and with a score of 148, Merrilee Carlson increased her average for a single game by 43 points. Steven Folden increased his average score by 38 points when he finished with 138 for a single game.

As a team, Dale Eckert, Bill Tunstall, McVicker, Folden and Starr came in first overall. They were followed by the team of Harry, Stephen Hull, Pamela Rae, Marilyn Barnes and Julie Carlson. Bringing up the rear, was the team of CJ Beaudreau, Seeley, Merrilee Carlson, Victor Efimoff and Donald Magnus.

With the help of many volunteers, everyone had a lot of fun at this tournament.
