Powell River Kings defeat Nanaimo Clippers in game one

Levi Glasman’s three-point night led Powell River Kings to a 3-2 victory over Nanaimo Clippers in game one of a best-of-seven BC Hockey League Island Division semi-final series on Friday, March 1, at Hap Parker Arena in Powell River.

Glasman scored 3:22 into the first period and set up Ben Berard’s powerplay goal in the second; both goals gave the Kings a one-goal lead. However, Nanaimo answered with two goals in the middle frame to tie the score at two after 40 minutes.

Glasman went to work again in period three, teaming up with Ethan Kimball to assist on Mitch Williams’ game winner 6:07 into the third period. Kimball recorded two assists on the night while fellow forward Josh Coblenz chipped in with one helper.

Goaltender Mitch Adamyk stopped 27 of 29 shots to earn the win.

Game two starts at 5 pm on Saturday, March 2, also at Hap Parker Arena.

In game one of the other Island Division semi-final series, Victoria Grizzlies defeated Alberni Valley Bulldogs 8-3.
