Powell River Kings hosted Alberni Valley Bulldogs on Friday, February 23, in the first of two weekend games between the BC Hockey League clubs at Hap Parker Arena.

Simone Dadiè scored four times and added an assist to lead the Kings in a 6-3 win. Christian Maro and Anthony Lucarelli also scored for the home team, which broke open a 1-1 game after the second period by outscoring the visitors by a 3-1 margin in period two and 2-1 over the final 20 minutes.

Justin Katz made 31 saves for the Kings, who were outshot 34-28. In addition to his goal, Lucarelli set up two others for a three point night.

Game two of the weekend set is scheduled for 5 pm on Saturday, February 24.
