Powell River Kings built a 3-1 lead through two periods at Hap Parker Arena on Friday, November 24, but were unable to hold off a third-period push from the visiting Chilliwack Chiefs.

Chilliwack cut the deficit in half 1:09 into the final frame, then added a trio of goals over a span of 4:42 late in the period to secure the win and two points in BC Hockey League (BCHL) Coastal Conference standings. Chiefs are sixth in the nine-team conference with 19 points in 19 games, 13 points behind the top team, Surrey Eagles, who have a record of 16 wins and three losses. Kings sit in eighth place with 10 points from 20 games, three ahead of Cowichan Valley Capitals.

Anthony Yu, Adam Mendelson and Kailus Green scored for the Kings, who outshot the Chiefs 34-31. Anthony Lucarelli, Jace Harder, Alex Sandhu, Zander Stewart and Zach Rizzo each helped set up one goal for the home team. Goaltender Owen Crudale made 26 saves.

The two teams meet in a rematch tonight (November 25), also at Hap Parker Arena. Game time is 7 pm.
