Powell River Kings lose game four in overtime

Nanaimo evens best-of-seven BC Hockey League series with victory in extra time

Nanaimo Clippers bounced back from an overtime loss in game three of a best-of-seven BC Hockey League playoff series against Powell River Kings with an extra time win of their own in game four on March 6 at Hap Parker Arena.

Powell River forward Ethan Kimball opened the scoring with a first-period goal assisted by Callum Volpe and Hunter Findlater. Nanaimo replied at the 12-minute mark of the second period to tie the score at one. After a scoreless third period, Clippers scored 3:36 into overtime for a 2-1 win, evening the series at two wins for each team.

Kings goaltender Matteo Paler-Chow stopped 33 of 35 shots in a losing effort.

The series resumes at Frank Crane Arena in Nanaimo on Thursday, March 8, when the Clippers host game five. Game six is scheduled for 7 pm on Saturday, March 10, in Powell River. If necessary, the series shifts back to Nanaimo for a seventh and deciding game on Sunday, March 11.
